Itinerary

DAY 1 – Arrive in Cairo for your Cairo and Nile River Vacation Package

Welcome to Cairo, Egypt. When you arrive at the airport, your tour manager meets you and then accompanies you to your hotel in one of our deluxe air-conditioned vehicles. He or she will get you checked in and then review your Cairo and Nile cruise vacation itinerary with you.

A pick up time for the following day’s tour will also be confirmed with you, and then you will be left to enjoy the remainder of your first day in Egypt as you wish.

DAY 2 – Private Guided Cairo Tour

Today your guide and driver will meet you at your hotel at the confirmed time, and then you will be driven to the ancient Giza necropolis, home to the legendary Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx. Your tour includes an admission ticket for the site, but does not include admission tickets for any of the three pyramids.

Tickets for going inside the pyramids can be purchased at one of the offices at the site’s entrance. We don’t include these tickets in our tours because most people are happy to just admire the pyramids from the outside.

After the pyramids, you then take a slow stroll to see the Sphinx. You can also cover the distance on a horse or camel, but this is optional and not included in the price of our 10-day Cairo and Nile River vacations.

When your tour at the necropolis ends, you are taken for lunch at a good local restaurant, after which you will visit the world famous Museum of Egyptian Antiquities (Egyptian Museum). The museum houses more than 100,000 ancient artifacts and it is one of the top tourist attractions in Cairo.

After your visit to the museum, you are then taken to spend some time exploring Cairo’s infamous centuries-old Khan el Khalili Bazaar. Enjoy some time shopping or exploring the bazaar, and then when you are ready your guide and driver will get you back to your hotel.
