8-Day Egypt Nile Cruise and Stay (Small Group Tour)

DAY 1 – Arrive in Cairo for your Nile Cruise and Stay Vacation

Your tour manager meets you at the airport when you land in Cairo, and then he or she will escort you to your hotel. Your tour manager will assist you with check-in and then review your travel itinerary with you. He or she will also confirm pick-up times for your upcoming tours in Cairo. After this, you are left to enjoy the rest of the day as you wish. Relax and unwind at your hotel or head out and get your first taste of Cairo.

DAY 2 – Giza Pyramids, Egyptian Museum and Khan el Khalili

Breakfast at your hotel and then your guide and driver will fetch you and the other members in your group. Today’s tour begins with a visit to Giza to see the famous pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus. You also visit the great Sphinx and the Valley temple while you are at the site

After your tour at the pyramids, you and your group are taken to a good local restaurant for some lunch. Lunch is included in your Egypt Nile cruise and stay package.

When everyone has finished eating, you then head to the world-renowned Museum of Egyptian Antiquities. There are more than 120,000 artifacts on display, representing 5,000 years of Egypt’s fascinating past.

Next, you will head to Khan el Khalili in the heart of Islamic Cairo. This is one of the oldest and biggest bazaars in the entire Middle East. Spend some time exploring the many meandering lanes and alleys, and then you and your group will be driven back to your hotel.

DAY 3 – Transfer to Luxor, Cruise Embarkation, and Luxor East Bank Tour

Enjoy an early breakfast at your hotel, and then you will check-out, and you will be transferred to the airport to board a flight to Luxor. When you land in Luxor, one of our tour representatives will meet you, and then you are taken to board you Nile cruise.

Shortly after you have boarded and checked in, lunch is served. After lunch you will have some free time for yourself, and then our expert guide will accompany you on a visit to Luxor Temple and the huge Karnak Temple complex.

Return to your cruise after your tour, and enjoy a good dinner. This night of your Egypt Nile cruise and stay holiday is spent on the river at Luxor.

DAY 4 – Luxor West Bank Tour and Cruise to Edfu

After an early breakfast on the river, you head to the Valley of Kings. This ancient royal burial ground is home to 62 tombs, including the tomb of King Tutankhamun and the tomb of Ramses VI. You will also get to see inside some of the tombs while you are at the site.

After Valley of the Kings, you visit the nearby mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. This breathtaking terraced complex was one of the grandest temples ever built by the ancient Egyptians. It is also considered one of Egypt’s “Incomparable Ancient Monuments.”

When you are finished at the temple you will then visit the gigantic Colossi of Memnon on your way back to your cruise ship.

There are no other tours today so you will have the rest of the day for yourself. Have another good lunch aboard the cruise ship and then enjoy leisurely cruise to Edfu. This night of your Nile cruise and stay holiday is spent on the river at Edfu.

DAY 5 – Edfu Temple, Kom Ombo Temple and Cruise to Aswan

Enjoy breakfast on the river and then you and your group head ashore with your guide to see Edfu Temple. This temple which was dedicated to Horus, was abandoned and eventually became buried under the desert sand. It was buried for more than 2,000 years. As a result, it is the best-preserved ancient temple ever discovered in Egypt.

Return to your cruise ship after your tour, and then you sail to Kom Ombo. On arrival, you head ashore again, this time to visit Kom Ombo Temple. This is an ancient twin-temple complex that was dedicated to two gods: Sobek and Horus.

Head back to your cruise after your tour, and then enjoy lunch while you are sailing to Aswan. Spend this night of your Egypt Nile cruise and stay holiday on the water at Aswan.

DAY 6 – Aswan Sightseeing and Free Time

Breakfast on the Nile, and then you head ashore with your guide who will take you to see three popular attractions. Visit the famous Aswan High Dam first, and then you head to the ancient stone quarries to see the gigantic Unfinished Obelisk.

Next, you visit the ancient Temple of Philae that was dedicated to two goddesses, Isis and Hathor. This temple was moved in entirety to its current location in order to save it from the flooding of Lake Nasser.

Head back to your cruise in time for lunch, and then you have the rest of the day for yourself. Enjoy the last night of your cruise one the quiet waters of the Nile at Aswan.

DAY 7 – Fly Back to Cairo [Optional Abu Simbel Tour]

Breakfast on the Nile and then you check-out and disembark. If you don’t join the optional tour to the Abu Simbel Temples, you are driven to Aswan Airport to board a flight back to Cairo. When you land in Cairo, your tour manager meets you and your group, and then you are transferred to the hotel where you will be staying for the last night of your Egypt Nile cruise and stay vacation.

Optional Abu Simbel Temples Tour– This is a group tour and costs $120 USD per person. The drive to Abu Simbel from Aswan takes about 4 hours.

DAY 8 – Nile Cruise and Stay Holiday Ends – Final Departure

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. At the appropriate time, you will check out, and then your tour manager and one of our drivers will transfer you to Cairo International Airport in time for your flight back home.
