Day Trip Cairo to Luxor

One of our tour representatives and driver fetch you from your hotel in the morning and then you are driven to the airport where you will board a short flight to Luxor. When you land in Luxor, one of our expert guides will meet you at the airport and then your tour will begin.

Your tour will begin with a visit to the ruins of the ancient Karnak Temple complex. Karnak is the largest place of worship ever built by man. It was primarily dedicated to the god Amon, along with his wife Mut and their son Khonsu. Today, Karnak is the second-most visited ancient site in Egypt.

After Karnak, you are will be taken to a good local restaurant for some lunch, and then once you have finished eating, you will visit the Valley of Kings, and ancient royal burial ground where more than 60 tombs were discovered.

Our “day trip Cairo to Luxor” package includes admission to some of the tombs, but to see inside some of the other tombs, visitors are required to purchase tickets in person at the site. One example would be the tomb of King Tutankhamun.

After visiting the tombs, you then visit the nearby mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Hatshepsut was the only true Egyptian female to rule over Egypt. Her huge terraced temple is thought to be the grandest mortuary temple ever built in Egypt. It is also considered to be one of Egypt’s “Incomparable Ancient Monuments.”

Your tour ends at around 16h00 while your flight back to Cairo only departs at around 22h00. To fill in this time, we will you into a hotel for free. Alternatively, if you want to take part in other activities, simply inform your guide and he or she will make it happen.

Whatever you choose, you will be driven to the airport in time for your flight back to Cairo. On landing in Cairo, will again be met at the airport, and then driven back to your hotel.
