Itinerary

DAY 1 – Arrive in Cairo for your Red Sea and Nile River Holiday

On arrival at the airport in Cairo, your tour manager meets you and assists you in every possible way, and then accompanies you to your hotel in one of our deluxe air-conditioned vehicles. He or she will assist with check-in and then review your itinerary with you. Pick up times for your upcoming tours will also be confirmed and then you will be left to enjoy the rest of the day as you wish.

DAY 2 – Private Giza Necropolis and Saqqara Tour

Today your guide and driver meets you at your hotel shortly after breakfast, and then you head to the Giza necropolis to see the legendary Giza Pyramids. You will also visit the Sphinx and the Valley Temple while you are at the site. Entering the pyramids is allowed, but separate tickets are required. These can be purchased at the entrance to the site.

Following your tour of the pyramids, you then head to a good local restaurant for lunch. When you have finished eating, you then drive to the ancient Saqqara necropolis to see the first pyramid ever built in Egypt, the Step Pyramid of Pharaoh Djoser.

After your tour at Saqqara, you then drive back to your hotel in Cairo. Enjoy the second night of your Red Sea and Nile River vacation in the Egyptian capital.

DAY 3 – Egyptian Museum, Khan el Khalili and Train to Aswan

At the time which will have been confirmed with you, your guide and driver will meet you at your hotel and you will check-out. You will then be driven to the world famous Egyptian Museum, home to more than 100,000 ancient artifacts.

Your visit to the museum will last until about midday, and then you will be taken to a good local restaurant for lunch. Lunch is included in your Red Sea and Nile River package. After lunch, you head to the much-loved Khan el Khalili Bazaar located in the heart of Islamic Cairo. Do some shopping or simply enjoy some time exploring the bazaar’s many meandering lanes and alleys.

Later in the day, you will then be driven to Giza Railway Station where you will board a train to Aswan. Dinner will be served in your compartment where you will be spending this night of your Red Sea and Nile River holiday.

DAY 4 – Free Day in Aswan with Option Abu Simbel Temples Tour

Enjoy breakfast on the train shortly before you arrive in Aswan. Our tour representative and a driver will meet you when you arrive and then take you to your hotel for check-in. You will then have the remainder of the day to yourself if you choose not to visit the Abu Simbel Temples, which is an optional tour (not included).

If you opt in for the Abu Simbel tour, you will visit the temple on day 5, and today you will visit the sites you would otherwise visit on day 5.

DAY 5 – Cruise Embarkation and Aswan Tour

If you have not opted in for the Abu Simbel tour, then your guide and driver will fetch you from your hotel shortly before midday and then take you to join your Nile River cruise to Luxor. Lunch is served shortly after boarding and then our expert guide will accompany you and a small group of our other clients on a tour to see three popular attractions in Aswan.

First you will visit the Aswan High Dam, and then you will make your way to the ancient granite quarries to see the massive Unfinished Obelisk. From the quarries, you then head to the ancient Temple of Philae which was dedicated to the goddesses Isis and Hathor.

After your visit to Philae Temple, you head back to your cruise in time for dinner. Enjoy this night of your Red Sea and Nile River vacation on the Nile at Aswan.

DAY 6 – Kom Ombo Temple, Edfu Temple and Cruise to Esna

Breakfast is served aboard your cruise while you are sailing to Kom Ombo. On arrival, your guide accompanies you and you small group to Kom Ombo Temple. This remarkable ancient temple is essentially two temples in one. One half was dedicated to Horus and the other half to Sobek.

After your visit to the temple, the cruise ship will then set sail for Edfu with lunch being served along the way. When you get to Edfu, your guided will accompany you on another excursion, this time to see the Temple of Horus which is the best-preserved ancient temple in Egypt.

Return to the ship after your tour, and then you sail to Esna. There are no other tours scheduled for today, so once you depart from Edfu you will have the remainder of the day for yourself. Enjoy this night of your Red Sea and Nile River vacation on the quiet waters of the Nile at Esna.

DAY 7 – Cruise to Luxor and West Bank Tour

Enjoy breakfast while sailing to Luxor. When you arrive in Luxor, your guide accompanies you and your group on a tour to see three ancient sites on the west bank of the Nile. Your first stop today will be at the Valley of Kings, an ancient necropolis where pharaohs and other nobility were entombed during the New Kingdom era. There are 62 ancient tombs here.

Your Nile Cruise Hurghada Stay package includes admission to some of the tombs, but not the “special” tombs such as the tomb of King Tutankhamun. Separate tickets for these must be purchased in person at the site.

Next, you head to the nearby mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the grandest temple ever built by the ancient Egyptian. You will also stop to see the gigantic Colossi of Memnon on your way back to the cruise ship.

Enjoy lunch on board the vessel and a leisurely after cruise out on the Nile. This night of your cruise will be spent on the water at Luxor.

DAY 8 – Cruise Disembarkation, East Bank Tour and Transfer to Hurghada

After breakfast you disembark from your cruise and then you visit two ancient sites located on the east bank of the Nile. First you will visit the vast Karnak Temple complex and then you visit Luxor Temple which is considered one of the most breathtaking open-air museums in the world.

After your tour, you are then taken to board a 1st class air-conditioned coach to Hurghada, a journey that takes about 3.5 hours.

When you arrive in Hurghada, one of our tour representatives and a driver will meet you and take you to your hotel where you will be staying for the next three nights of your Red Sea and Nile River vacation.

DAY 9 –Free Day in Hurghada with Optional Tours and Activities

Today is a free day for you to enjoy as you wish. If you don’t want to spend the day relaxing, there are optional tours and lots of fun activities available, including SCUBA diving, snorkeling, quad biking, wind surfing, etc.

DAY 10 – Free Day in Hurghada with Optional Tours and Activities

Enjoy a second day of relaxation on the Red Sea coast, or enjoy some more fun activities.

DAY 11 –Free Time and Transfer to Cairo

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and some quality leisure time. At the time which will have been confirmed with you, our tour representative and driver will meet you at your hotel. You will then check-out and you will be taken to board a 1st class air-conditioned coach to Cairo.

When you arrive in Cairo, you will again be met, and then transferred to the hotel where you will be staying for the last night of your Red Sea and Nile River vacation.

DAY 12 – Your Cairo, Red Sea and Nile River Vacation Ends

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, and then at the appropriate time, your tour manager and a driver will fetch you from your hotel and take you to Cairo International Airport in time for your flight out of Egypt. Your Cairo, Red Sea and Nile River cruise vacation has now come to an end.
