Itinerary

DAY 1 – Arrive in Cairo for Your Cairo, Nile Cruise and Red Sea Holiday

Your tour manager will meet you at Cairo International Airport when you arrive. Once you clear immigration, he or she will then escort you to your hotel in one of our clean, modern, and air-conditioned vehicles.

At the hotel, your tour manager will ensure a smooth and efficient check-in. He or she will also review your itinerary with you and confirm pick up times for your various tours. After this, you are left to enjoy the rest of the day as you wish.

DAY 2 – Private Pyramids Tour and Overnight Train to Aswan

Breakfast at your hotel and then it will be time for you to check-out. Your private expert guide and your person driver will fetch you at the agreed time, and you will drive to Giza. Once here, you will be given a very informative tour of the legendary Giza Pyramids, the Sphinx, and the Valley Temple.

Your Giza Pyramids tour will last more or less until lunchtime. When it is over, you will then be taken for lunch at a good local restaurant. Lunch today in included in the price of our Cairo, Nile Cruise and Red Sea travel packages.

After lunch, you will head to Saqqara to see the very first pyramid ever built by the Ancient Egyptians: the Djozer Step Pyramid. This pyramid would already have been considered ancient by the time the Great Pyramid at Giza was built.

Once you are finished at the site, you will drive back to Cairo, and you will be taken to Giza Railway Station in time for you to board your overnight sleeper train to Aswan. Overnight on the train with dinner served in your compartment.

DAY 3 – Cruise Embarkation and Aswan Tour

Enjoy breakfast in your compartment on the train. When it arrives at Aswan Station, one of our tour representatives will once again meet you, and then escort you to the area where you will be boarding your Nile River cruise to Luxor via Kom Ombo and Edfu.

Enjoy your first on-board lunch shortly after boarding. You will then have some free time for yourself. A bit later in the day, one of our expert guides will accompany you and some of our other client on a tour to see three different attractions.

During this tour, you will visit the Aswan High Dam, the ancient Temple of Philae, and the ancient Unfinished Obelisk. Philae Temple was built to honor two goddesses: Isis and Hathor and was an extremely holy site. It was the last true Egyptian temple built by the Ancient Egyptians.

After your tour, you head back to the cruise ship and the remainder of the day is yours to enjoy as you wish. Dinner will be served in the evening, and this night of your Cairo, Nile Cruise and Red Sea holiday will be spent on the water at Aswan.

DAY 4 – Kom Ombo and Edfu Excursions

Breakfast today will be served while you are sailing to Kom Ombo. When you reach Kom Ombo, your guide will accompany you and your small group on a visit to the fascinating Kom Ombo Temple. Although this is a single complex, it actually consists or two identical temples which were built to honor two different gods: Sobek and Haeroris.

After your temple visit, you will then start sailing to Edfu. Enjoy lunch along the way, and then when you arrive, your guide will take you to see the Temple of Horus. As a result of having been buried under sand for more than 2,000 years, it is the best-preserved ancient temple ever discovered in Egypt.

Following your visit to the temple, you head back to the ship and it will then sail to Esna. Enjoy afternoon tea along the way, and dinner shortly after arriving at Esna. This night of your Cairo, Nile Cruise and Red Sea trip will be spent on the river at Esna.

DAY 5 – Luxor West Bank and East Bank Tours

Breakfast is served while you sail from Esna to Luxor. Shortly after arriving in Luxor, your guide will accompany you for a tour on the East Bank. During this tour you will visit Luxor Temple and the vast Karnak Temple complex. This site was built over a period that spanned more than 2,000 years. Despite being most just ruins today, it is the second-most visit ancient site in Egypt.

Return to the cruise for lunch after visiting Karnak Temple. Once the weather cools somewhat, your guide will take you for another tour, this time on the West Bank. Your tour will begin with a visit to the Valley of Kings. More than 60 ancient tombs have been discovered here, including the tomb of King Tutankhamun.

Next, you visit the nearby mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the only “true” Egyptian female ruler. Her mortuary temple was one of the grandest temples ever built during the time of Ancient Egypt. You will also visit the two giant Colossi of Memnon located nearby, and then you will return to the cruise.

Enjoy the rest of the day your way, and spend this night of your Nile cruise and Red Sea stay holiday on the river at Luxor.

DAY 6 – Cruise Ends and Transfer to Sharm by Air

Breakfast, followed by check-out and disembarkation, and then we transfer you to Luxor Airport where you will board a flight to Sharm El Sheik. Most Luxor to Sharm flights are indirect flights that travel via Cairo.

When you land in Luxor, one of our tour representatives will meet you and then escort you to the resort hotel where you will be stay while you are in Sharm. Once you have checked-in, you will then have the rest of the day for yourself.

DAY 7 – Free Time at Sharm with Optional Excursion

There are no tours scheduled for this day of your Cairo, Nile Cruise and Red Sea vacation but we do offer an optional tour to the Ras Mohammed National Park. Enjoy the day your way at Sharm, or visit the national park to enjoy some of Egypt’s natural beauty.

DAY 8 – Free Time at Sharm with Optional Excursion

Enjoy another free day in Sharm, or join an optional tour to the Colored Canyon, one of the Wonders of Sinai. If you do decide to join this tour, you will be driven to the site and back in one of our suitably equipped air-conditioned vehicles

DAY 9 – Free Time at Sharm with Optional Excursion

Enjoy another free day in Sharm, or take an optional tour to the Monastery of St. Catherine. The monastery is located at the foot of Mount Moses and is owned and run by the Greek Orthodox Church. There is plenty to see here, including what it believed to be the Burning Bush mentioned in the Bible.

DAY 10 – Return to Cairo by Air

Enjoy breakfast at your resort hotel, and then at the appropriate time, you will check-out, and you will be driven to the airport for your flight back to Cairo. When you land in Cairo, your tour manager meets you at the airport and then escorts you to the hotel where you will stay for the last two night of your Cairo, Nile Cruise and Red Sea vacation. After check-in, enjoy the rest of the day your way.

DAY 11 – Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum

After a delicious, wholesome breakfast at your hotel, your personal guide will take you to the Giza Plateau, where you’ll begin your adventure by marveling at the Great Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Explore the iconic Sphinx and the Valley Temple before continuing your journey.

Next, enjoy a traditional lunch at an authentic Egyptian restaurant. Following that, head to the New Grand Egyptian Museum, also known as the Giza Museum, located just 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) from the Giza pyramid complex. The museum is currently offering limited access as part of a test phase before its official opening, allowing visitors to explore the Main Galleries, Grand Hall, Grand Staircase, commercial area, and exterior gardens.

End your day with a return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Cairo, marking the perfect start to your Cairo, Nile Cruise and Red Sea experience.

DAY 12 – Cairo, Nile Cruise and Red Sea Itinerary Ends and Final Departure

Enjoy one last breakfast at your hotel. At the appropriate time, your tour manager will arrive to assist with check-out if need be, and to escort you to Cairo International Airport. One at the airport, he or she will accompany you to passport control and thank you for booking your vacation through us, and then bid you farewell. Your Cairo, Nile Cruise and Red Sea trip in Egypt has now come to an end.
