8-Day Egypt, Cairo and Nile Cruise Holiday Tour

DAY 1 – Arrive in Egypt for your Cairo and Nile Cruise Tour

Your tour manager meets you at the airport in Cairo when you arrive for your Egypt, Cairo and Nile cruise vacation. He or she will issue you with your Egypt entry visa. Once you clear immigration, they will then escort you to your boutique hotel in one of our deluxe air-conditioned vehicles.

You will be assisted with check-in and then your travel itinerary will be reviewed with you, and pick-up times for your tours will be confirmed. After this, your tour manager leaves and you then have the rest of the day to yourself.

DAY 2 – Giza Pyramids and the Great Step Pyramid

Enjoy breakfast and then you visit Egypt’s most famous attraction, the Great Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx on the outskirts of Cairo. You will also visit the Valley Temple, and then you break for lunch at a good local restaurant.

After lunch you then head to Saqqara to see the Great Step Pyramid of Pharaoh Djoser. This is Egypt’s oldest ancient pyramid, and the first one ever built by the ancient Egyptians. It was built approximately 70 years before work began on the construction of the Great Pyramid at Giza.

There are no more sightseeing tours today, so once you are finished at Saqqara, your guide and driver will return you to your hotel in Cairo.

DAY 3 – Egyptian Museum, Islamic Cairo and Khan el Khalili

Your guide and driver once again fetch you from your hotel at the agreed time, and then you head to the Egyptian Museum. Overlooking the now famous Tahrir Square, this incredible museum is home to more than 120,000 artifacts.

When you are finished at the museum, enjoy lunch at a good local restaurant. After lunch, you take a drive through Islamic Cairo and you then visit the city’s famous Khan el Khalili Bazaar. This centuries-old bazaar has so much character and it’s a definite must-see attraction.

When you are ready to leave the bazaar, just let your guide know, and then you will be returned to your hotel for your last night in Cairo.

DAY 4 – Transfer to Luxor by Air, Luxor Sightseeing and Cruise Embarkation

Enjoy an early breakfast at your hotel and then your tour manager and one of our drivers take you to the airport where you will board a flight to Luxor. When you land in Luxor one of our guides and a driver will be waiting for you, and you will then visit Karnak Temple. This is the second-most visited ancient site in Egypt.

After Karnak, you visit Valley of the Kings, an ancient royal burial ground that is home to 62 rock-cut tombs. Our 8-day Egypt, Cairo and Nile cruise tours include entry to some of the tombs at the site. However, visitors are required to buy their own tickets in person at the site if they wish to enter certain “special” tombs. Two examples would be the tomb of Ramses VI and the tomb of Tutankhamun.

After exploring the Valley of Kings, you are then taken to board the luxurious Nuun or Nuut Dahabiya for you cruise on the Nile. The Nuun and Nuut Dahabiyas are two of the most luxurious Dahabiyas on the Nile in Egypt.

Shortly after boarding, your Dahabiya will depart from Luxor and it will sail slowly to Esna with a delicious freshly prepared lunch served along the way. Enjoy the first night of your Dahabiya cruise surrounded by serenity on the river at Esna.

DAY 5 – El Kab and Edfu Tours

Enjoy breakfast aboard your Dahabiya while you sail to El Kab. On arrival, you will head ashore with your guide and your will be taken to see the ancient El Kab Temple. Spend some time at the temple and then enjoy a leisurely stroll through El Kab Village with its many mud brick houses.

When you get back to your Dahabiya it departs from El Kab and it then sails to Edfu with lunch served along the way. On arrival at Edfu, a horse-drawn carriage be waiting to take you for a ride through the town until you reach Edfu Temple.

Also known as the Temple of Horus, this is the most well-preserved ancient temple ever discovered in Egypt. When you are finished at the temple, your horse-drawn carriage takes you back to your Dahabiya which will then sail to Sheikh Rehan Island.

Have a mouthwatering dinner surrounded by peace and tranquility. This night of your Egypt, Cairo and Nile cruise holiday is spent on the river near the island.

DAY 6 – Gabal El Silsela and Temple of Hormoheb

Enjoy breakfast on the river while you are sailing to Gabal El Silsela. On arrival, you head ashore with your guide and you visit the ancient rock-cut Temple of Hormoheb. When you are finished at the temple, you then hike to the top of Silsela Mountain to enjoy a truly exquisite view. After this, you head back to your Dahabiya which will then sail to Al Bashir Island. Enjoy another excellent lunch while sailing, and a delicious BBQ dinner in the evening at the edge of the island. This night of your Egypt, Cairo and Nile cruise vacation is spent on the serene waters of the Nile at Al Bashir Island.

DAY 7 – Kom Ombo Temple and Sail to Aswan

Begin your day with a delicious breakfast and a leisurely cruise to Kom Ombo. On arrival, you head ashore with your guide again and you take a slow stroll through the town until you arrive at the ancient Kom Ombo Temple.

Kom Ombo temple was dedicated to two different gods: Sobek the crocodile God and Haroeris, also known as Horus the Elder. Because the complex was dedicated to two gods, it has two identical entrances, hypostyle halls, and sanctuaries.

When you are finished at the temple you then head back to your Dahabiya, and then it sails to Aswan. Enjoy a delicious lunch, a wonderfully relaxing afternoon, and a mouthwatering dinner on board. The last night of your Egypt, Cairo and Nile cruise vacation is spent on the river at Aswan.

DAY 8 – Final Departure via Cairo International Airport

Enjoy one more breakfast on board your luxury Dahabiya. Your Egypt, Cairo and Nile cruise holiday has now come to an end, so once you have finished eating, it will be time for you to disembark. After disembarking, you will then be driven to Aswan Airport for your final departure via Cairo.
