DAY 1 – Arrive in Egypt for your Cairo and Dahabiya Nile Sailing Vacation
Your tour manager meets you at Cairo International Airport when you arrive and the issue with your Egypt entry visa. Once you clear immigration, your tour manager and private driver take you to your boutique hotel in one of our deluxe air-conditioned vehicles.
You will be assisted with check-in and then your tour manager reviews your itinerary with you. He or she will also confirm pick-up times for your tours in Cairo. After this, you are left to enjoy the rest of your first day in Cairo as you wish.
DAY 2 – Great Pyramids of Giza and Great Step Pyramid of Djozer
Today your expert guide and your driver fetch you from your hotel at the confirmed time and then you head to Giza to see the famous Giza Pyramids, the Sphinx and the Valley Temple. The biggest of the three pyramids, known as the Great Pyramid of Giza, is one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and the only one which remains largely intact.
While our Cairo and Dahabiya Sailing package includes a ticket for the Giza necropolis, it does not include tickets for entering any of the pyramids. However, entry tickets for the pyramids can be purchased at the site.
After your pyramids tour, you break for lunch. Lunch is provided at a good authentic Egyptian restaurant.
Enjoy your lunch, and then you drive to Saqqara which is roughly 40 kilometers from Cairo. Here you visit the ancient Saqqara necropolis to see the Great Step Pyramid of pharaoh Djoser. This was the first pyramid ever built by the ancient Egyptians.
When you are finished at the Step Pyramid, you are then driven back to your hotel in Cairo.

DAY 3 – Museum of Egyptian Antiquities & Khan el Khalili
After breakfast, your guide and driver fetch you again, and then you head to the Egyptian Museum in the heart of Cairo With more than 120,000 artifacts and relics on display, you can expect to be at the museum until around noon and then you break for lunch.
Lunch will again be had at a good local restaurant. After lunch, you head to Cairo’s beloved Khan el Khalili Bazaar located in the heart of Islamic Cairo. This is one of the biggest and oldest bazaars in the Middle East. Do some shopping, or simply enjoy some time exploring its many meandering lanes and alleys.
When you are ready to leave, tell your guide, and then you will be taken back to your hotel and you will have the rest of the day to yourself.

DAY 4 – Fly to Aswan for Dahabiya Nile Sailing
After an early breakfast at your hotel, you check-out, and then your tour manager and driver take you to the airport to board a flight to Aswan. On arrival in Aswan, our tour representative meets you at the airport, and then you are taken to board the Nuut or Nuun Dahabiya. The Nuut and Nuun Dahabiyas are two of Ashranda’s most luxurious Dahabiyas, with both offering a high level of comfort, quality and privacy.
Shortly after boarding your Dahabiya, it will set sail for Kom Ombo, with a delicious freshly prepared lunch served along the way.
On arrival at Kom Ombo, you head ashore with your guide and you take a slow stroll through the town until you reach Kom Ombo Temple. This is essentially an ancient twin-temple complex. One half of the complex was dedicated to Sobek the crocodile god, while the other half was dedicated to Horus the falcon-headed god.
Once you get back to your Dahabiya, it will then sail towards Al Bashir Island. Enjoy this night of your Dahabiya Nile sailing experience on the river near the island.

DAY 5 – Dahabiya Nile Sailing to Gebel El Silsila
Enjoy breakfast while sailing quietly along the Nile towards the ancient stone quarries at Gebel El Silsila. On arrival, you head ashore with your guide, and you visit the ancient rock-cut temple of Hormoheb. You then hike to the top of the mountain to enjoy the spectacular view before heading back to your Dahabiya.
The Nuut or Nuun Dahabiya then starts sailing towards Fawaza Island with a delicious lunch served along the way. Enjoy a breathtaking sunset, followed by mouthwatering dinner. This night of your Dahabiya Nile sailing holiday is spent on the quiet waters of the Nile near Fawaza Island.

DAY 6 – Edfu and Edfu Temple / El Kab Village and El Kab Temple
Have your breakfast out on the river while sailing to Edfu. On arrival you head ashore. A traditional horse-drawn carriage will then take you for ride through the charming town of Edfu until you come to Edfu Temple. Also known as the Temple of Horus, it is the most well-preserved ancient cult temple ever discovered in Egypt.
When you are finished at the temple, your carriage will take you back to your Dahabiya, which will then start sailing to El Kab Village. Enjoy lunch on the river and when you arrive at Al Kab, you head ashore with guide to see the ancient Al Kab Temple.
When you are finished at the temple, you take a leisurely stroll back through the village with its many mud brick homes. Once back aboard your Dahabiya, it will then sail to El Hegz Island near Esna. Enjoy the last night of your Dahabiya Nile sailing experience on the water near the Island.

DAY 7 – Nile Sailing, Disembarkation, Luxor Sightseeing, Return to Cairo
Enjoy breakfast on the river while sailing to Esna. On arrival, you will check-out and disembark, and then you drive to Luxor. When you get to Luxor you visit two more fantastic ancient sites: Karnak Temple and the Valley of Kings with its 62 ancient royal tombs.
After your tour, you are then driven to Luxor airport to board a flight back to Cairo. Your tour manager meets you at the airport when you land in Cairo, and then escorts you to the boutique hotel where you will be staying for the last night of your Cairo and Dahabiya Nile sailing holiday.

DAY 8 – Cairo and Dahabiya Nile Sailing Tour Ends – Final Departure
Enjoy a high quality breakfast at your hotel, and then at the appropriate time your tour manager and driver will fetch you and take you to Cairo International Airport in time for your flight back home.
